Remember when we got pulled over for eating rice?
Back in July, three friends and I went to the Elora Quarry. If you've never been, I highly recommend it. It's a great swimming hole with cliffs to jump off. I personally enjoy and recommend the one-metre cliff :)
So, our starting point was Waterloo (A), the Quarry was our destination (B), and now you may be wondering what C is. Welcome to Minto! When Charlotte, Alia, Lisa, and I decided to play 'hot-seat' on the way home from the Quarry, we managed to lose track of all sense of direction and we arrived in a small town called Minto. We pulled over at a fire station and while Alia and Charlotte went to ask for directions to get ourselves back to Waterloo... Lisa and myself (being the fat-kids) got out and ate a lot of rice.
Just a little side note here: Lisa makes the best fried rice! It was cold AND didn't have soy sauce and it was still amazing!
Once we got back into the car to head back to Waterloo, we got pulled over. Apparently the town of Minto doesnt like people parking in at the Fire Station. We told the officer we had gotten lost and were on our way back home. The officer then tried to give us directions on how to get back to Waterloo...meanwhile we were all in the car trying our hardest not to stare/laugh/point but... he had pastry crumbs all over his pants/crotch. Thankfully, crumby crotch let us go and we managed to get back!
All in all, the trip to the quarry was great. Oh! I almost forgot to mention, the Elora Quarry has really nice 'bear patrol' because you never know when a southern ontario bear might jump in the quarry to attack :)
So, although we ended up in Minto...I must say that our sense of direction has improved a lot! Later in the term, on a field trip in Hamilton, we somehow managed to fall behind but managed to make good guesses at each fork in the path and found our way. Friends, you are great people to get lost with!
ps. tomorrow I take off for Montreal! and next, I am Yukon Territory bound! More to come from the far north!
