This was our Philippines route. Trip was fun. Got to experience all forms of transportation in this country. From jeepneys, tricycles, buses, planes, boats, and taxi cars - my favorite was the jeepney and riding on top of the bus. Overall, I left the Philippines feeling I needed more. There is so much more of the Philippines that I want to explore and experience. I want to learn more about the people. I would love to return. Also - one of the best places for scuba diving according to this old American scuba diver we met who has dove all over the world! So I'd definitely love to go back to do more diving, if nothing else!

Highlights:
- Side-saddling on the motorbike (tricycle) with driver Ricki who later gave me relationship advice
- Eating on Alona Beach with GOOD live music
- Scuba diving (two dives). Saw GIANT sea turtles!! Dove along a vertical cliff of coral. Definitely a lot more comfortable diving now. Even ran out of air and had to use our Dive Master's alternate.
- Napping outside on bamboo benches and beds in the jungle
- Riding on top (the roof) of a bus because there wasn't any room inside the bus - "Watch out for the lines" What lines? Avoiding getting clotheslined by overhanging telephone wires!
- Zip-lining flying squirrel style across a beautiful gorge
- Telling the locals that I was Fil-Am (Filipino-American)
- Grilling squid and corn on the beach while KT and JT and I had fun chatting and joking with GR (the one with the rat tail)
- Finding a Korean in the Philippines who was NOT a tourist - he was selling SOJU!
- Getting into a Jeepney in Manila without knowing where it was headed
- Seeing all the cute kids playing in the streets, playing flip-flop dodgeball
- Eating casava/coconut cakes with no wheat! And they were only 5 pesos!
- Halo-halo: no need to elaborate.
- Being dirty in the jungle covered in strange bites
- Good laughs with KT and JT. They are fun travel partners!
- Seeing a hammock that makes men pregnant.
- The Filipino guys with pony tails - we knew we could always trust the men with pony tails.
